Are you expecting them to be buried in a yard somewhere to be dug up and cashed in?

Python doesn't _really_ have typing though. It's more a method of documentation really (right now, anyway) edit: to clarify, I wouldn't say the type hints put Python in the realm of a statically typed lang (how could it ..) b

Just to piggy-back on the "I don't know what to do with it" point, this has been pretty handy https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/here-are-some-app-ideas-yo...

I thought this too initially, but most devs should be able to pick up a lang once you throw them into a codebase / go through a few tutorials. Granted you don't get the same depth of knowledge you might find with an experienced JS

I really like React Native for speed; I think getting it started for either Android or iOS is fairly similar. The latest version also has better performance than previous iterations, as well as the dev-friendly stuff like hot-reloading of c

The Jetbrains pack is amazing value; however the quality of PyCharm has dipped lately...

Yeah I've found them to be of mixed quality. Mainly they're just high-level overviews, which I guess is fine as a primer (and for the price!)

Yeah I was just reading that and thinking the exact same thing. Lately I've been thinking 'man, Elixir has been getting some traction' until I realised I'd only really read that on HN in the comments sections.

This is interesting and may explain the core of many arguments in the developer community (i.e. a lot of hair-splitting!)

This entire article kind of assumes that you're stuck with your current workload and will never scale, which is awfully pessimistic. Should we all just take the attitude that, oh well, we'll never be massive so why bother trying t

I gave Firefox an honest go, but some web apps just don't work 100% in it. Chrome does not have this issue. Most of us drive cars filled with fuel from evil oil companies, why do we all drive cars?

We replaced an old grails service with Django - for some reason the home button in the grails app would take you to the grails.org website, so naturally it went into the Django app.

I second this when it comes to APIs. If you're exposing them to third parties it's especially useful, as you can draft how the endpoint should look and behave using something like Swagger, and then work from the top down. At my jo
