Remember when this was a selling point for android devices? I think everyone that owned one pretty much touted it as the killer feature.

Most people don't have time for that. Just give me kubernetes or GAE. I'm convinced Google's infrastructure play will ultimately win the hearts and minds of developers because they understand this.

You installed adobe reader on your Mac? I usually don't make comments regarding other people's software choices but you are definitely doing it wrong. Mac OSX's built in pdf viewer "preview" is much better than even

God... I friggin' LOVE the name and logo of this project. "HammerSpoon" It perfectly conveys what an elegant kludge it is.

Twilio is one of the worst. The documentation leaves out crucial details some of the time and an XML interface for phone calls? Gross.

Actually those are the rates for the best effort class of service. The business class service where you have guarantees is even more expensive.

I hope this reduces the cost of their business offerings. I love the service, and the home offering is the deal of the century, but $500/month for 50Mb/sec symmetric or $250/month for 20Mb/sec symmetric is hard to swallo

The more I use Docker the more I realize that GCE is going to smoke AWS and Azure in the future with regards to deploying a containerized infrastructure. This is mostly because turn-key kubernetes on GCE is light years ahead of what ECS pro

Without getting stability and reliability correct don't bother with the other features. What good is it if the filesystem handles oodles of drives if none of them have any of the data you put on them?

Obviously the natural ratio is 50/50. I was wondering more if it s bad that we skew it so much unnaturally to one side.

What is the ratio of female hens to male roosters? Quick googling tells me 10 to 1 but I'm not sure if that is correct. Is there any other species that has a similar extremely lopsided number of one sex?

The homebrew model where packages and changes to packages are reviewed takes care of this problem quite nicely.

This seems incredibly over engineered. One less system call? Great, but I'd rather the service just be cheaper. Skip the blog posts and just ship it already!

Apple murders this space. iMessage does all of the stuff whatsapp does regarding groups, etc AND it has a killer desktop client (the mac). Not only that but my non iMesssage text messages are proxied to my mac as well. I can communicate via

I think if you are using a text editor to browse 50mb logs you are probably doing it wrong. Try grep.

I think the "Atom is slow" meme needs to die. Obviously, if you are loading 100s of random extensions made by fledgling JS programmers you are gonna have a bad time. Obviously if you load a 2gb text file and try to syntax highligh

The phones have SIM cards (subscriber identification modules). However, they are not authenticated by this network to see if they are paying customers or whatever because this is an experiment.
