Yeah that's just not correct. The CPUs and GPUs from 5 years ago were good but the current generation of intel cpus are much faster and the video cards are in an entirely different realm. Source: owned 2011 MacBook Pro that was decked

I just played around with it. Wow! Last time this came up on HN I shrugged it off but after playing around with it a bit as a former Ruby programmer I'm in love. Super simple to compile a little binary and it's blazing fast when I

Ubiquiti is the best. Their stuff rivals and even beats lots of the more expensive stuff at a fraction of the price. It's all very high quality but so cheap that you think they are joking when you see the price. Edge router: amazing Ed

This guy fails to mention that the CPUs in the X1 and MacBook Pro are in a different league. The ULV chips in the X1 are comparable to the non touchbar pro and MacBook but not the one with the touchbar with the big boy CPU.

AWS Console went from 284 to < 150 but that was the only tab that broke 100mb. Not sure what all of you with 100s of 250mb+ tabs are doing. Excited for electron + node to get this improvement.

That's my point, why would I ever buy keyless entry/start? Of all the things that bother me with car ownership I never felt burdened by having to put a key in the ignition. That's the best part!

by tbrock 10y ago
What? I had a 2004 BMW that would charge the key battery through induction when you had it in the ignition and the car was running. Battery never died in 10 years owning the car. How have things gotten worse since then?

The person who wrote this thinks Redhat cannot afford a 500k Linux foundation membership... I don't think that is correct. They should really step up.

How can anyone work on an operating system that behaves that's way? Complain about MacOS we might but at least it doesn't restart without us being able to stop it.

Hmm, as someone who is about to move from using a webserver to hosting our single page app on S3 you may have just convinced me not to. What exactly are the benefits over simply setting up nginx if not simplicity? Yeah, it's great to j

Since the non-touchbar model has the MacBook Air class CPU and your 2015 MPB has the higher voltage pro class CPU I'd say that's quite an improvement. This years "MacBook Air" like model is as powerful as last years MacB
