The upgrade path using logical replication is critical for minimizing downtime. The others should not be considered for production workloads. As far as RDS goes it amazes me that, even with replicas, there are NO options for doing a zero do

I think you just need to add shift, option is not necessary.

I think the modern version of this is render (render.com) I’ve found their devex to be delighful and able to provide power without much of the conplexity.

Why doesn’t Microsoft take the hint and make a decent pdf viewer / editor thingy? They seemed to get the hint on the terminal finally… Handle basic viewing, editing, signatures. Etc… While we are at it a GTK one would be great in Gnome

There’s tons of great stuff coming out: Mimestream is the mail best app I’ve used in decades (gmail only). Id pay the creators $100 or more for a license if he charged. TablePlus is decent. Obsidian for notes. Monodraw for ascii drawings.

Finally someone tackling the real problems that everyone glosses over when gushing about postgres. Bravo! This is a really excellent project.

In that case how does it work? Are the connectors wrappers around the other db drivers that expose a common Postgres wire protocol?

Id love to hire some Latin American developers for my team. Any pointers on how to find them? Do folks go through outsourcing firms or try to directly hire folks?

nit: Mongoid is not the MongoDB ruby driver. Mongoid is an Object::Document mapper for Ruby (which makes use of that driver). Nevertheless this should have warranted a mongoid major version bump because it's backward breaking.

Why would anyone write that so it changes the license to the right one instead of just flagging it as incorrect for review?

Wow, no dynamic memory allocation stood out to me in the description. Pretty interesting! This being auditable and significantly decreasing the attack vector surface area for ssh seems promising.

We ran into this too, i actually think its a terrible postgres default. Logical replication slots should have timeouts where if you haven't read the WAL record in say 24 hours it should be dropped. Make it configurable and set a sane d

Literally none of them have a horizontal resolution exceeding that of a non-wide 4k monitor.

Thats bad. That max horizontal resolution is no better than a 4k monitor’s.

No. Their max horizontal resolution (technical specification) is no better than a 4k monitor’s.

What is extremely annoying to me is that all these companies make ultra wide monitors without increasing the horizontal resolution. Why would anyone want an ultra-WIDE monitor with exactly the same resolution as a 4k monitor. The T E X T L

Thats code folks would have to write instead of focusing on the MVP, it would be better if this loaded it by convention.

Certainly even 50/500, or 100/500 would be a better split.

We recently went through this hell converting a NodeJS codebase to TypeScript. One reason many people willingly enter this hellscape is because we need ES modules for typescript. I say “need” because Typescript wont ingest types from “requi
