By programmable you mean configurable via a REST api?

I’ve been wanting to do this since I run a Linux desktop and laptop. What software did you use to make it work?

I was surprised this is all about physical costs and doesn’t include digital costs that folks should be aware of. I was expecting to see the latency between AZs in a region and between regions for example.

One would idiomatically use “git checkout <path-to-file>” for the functionality described by the author: “get some file back to the latest version committed in HEAD”. Stopped reading after I saw this.

I honestly cannot believe the massive scope of this project, it’s astonishing. What an accomplishment! You singlehandedly created something that took many programmers many decades to build.

Without Android, Huawei is as good as dead in terms of being a competitive handset manufacturer. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to purchase a phone with “HongMeng OS” given the technical/security concerns, lack of apps, and general unf

Yeah, we wound up using both because it’s easy for analysts to use Looker but data devs prefer Periscope for whipping up a graph. Although... after setting up redash I realized we can get 90% of what periscope offers for free by hosting it

I don't understand why folks subject themselves to this for $1000 when other options are available. You don’t have to keep supporting Samsung by buying their phones. Get a pixel instead.

We like it so far. It’s great to control our own runners and be able to size larger hosts. We came from CircleCI.

That’s nothing for a company making that much revenue, they have to keep all the websocket connections open for notifications, index all the messages for search, store files, host video chats / phone calls, etc... it’s not trivial.

The way to get the best results with gnome is to not scale the screen: keep it 100% (unscaled) then use gnome tweak tool to increase the font size to your liking. Works great no matter what monitor I plug it into using an X1 Carbon with the

If I recall correctly, P.C. Walton, one of the creators of rust, used an NES emulator during rust’s initial programming to measure performance of the language’s output binaries.

That's because it's a random chinese board that attempts to provide up to date performance but not focused on up-to-date thermals/efficiency. If a modern 13.3 screamer with battery life is what you are looking for however, ch

These are awesome. For a long time I’ve thought a 13.3 X thinkpad like the 2X0 series (a proper successor to the x300/x301) would be the best thing ever. You take the x2X0 chassis, renowned for portabiltiy, battery life, and repair abi

Yeah, it doesn’t make sense. If he wants the new new stuff why not run 18.10, wait a month until 19.04 arrives, or switch to a rolling release distro?
