You might want to change the name from Arc to something else. Arc is the name of a lisp dialect written by Paul Graham, and is the language Hacker News is written in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arc_%28programming_lang

If you're not quite ready to whole hog on the functional purity aspect, I'd suggest you take a look at OCaml. OCaml supports many modern programming amenities, such as Garbage Collection, Higher-order Functions, Static Type-Checki

I fail to see which of those things require a VPS. You could easily do them from having a local Linux install, or even a Linux VM. It sounds more to me like you are saying every developer should gain experience working in a Linux environmen

I have heard people say this before, and it always makes me wonder. Why not remember it as "extract zipped file" instead of "extract zee file"? That is after all a more accurate description of the flags you are giving ta

Until your karma count goes above a certain amount, the downvote function is disabled. So it could be the case that these new users are simply unable to downvote, not that they refuse to do so.

I have been using this setup for a while (see my reply to the parent for more details), and I have found it is more comfortable to curl thumbs than to have a pinky outstretched to the Caps Lock position. The problem I had with the outstretc

I map ctrl to alt, and alt (meta) to the windows key. I also map backspace to caps lock. This is similar to the old lisp machine keyboards emacs started on. For example, the space cadet keyboard: http://world.std.com/~jdosta

This is all well and good for enforcing behaviours that a person could naturally fall into, but what if you wanted to someone to do something they had never done before?

If you like Deluxe Paint you might want to check out grafx2. It's a GPL licensed graphics program inspired by Deluxe Paint. I've been messing around with it a bit, and it's pretty cool. Would probably be useful for sprite art

If you view source on the page you can see a link to the song. It's being played from an invisible embedded youtube player, so you can get the link from there.

I don't pay for any SaaS. This isn't any kind of judgment I'm passing, I'm not trying to say "noone should psy for SaaS" or anything like that, just weighing in my own preferences.

RSA refers to Rivest-Shamir-Adleman and ECC refers to Elliptic curve cryptography. They are both algorithms which take different approaches to public key cryptography. RSA has been in use for longer than ECC and it's considered to be m
