I've worked with Blake a lot, my company developed their current e-commerce site. He's a great, passionate and fun guy. One of my favorite stories about him is when we were asking how he gets thousands of pairs of shoes through customs in A

As someone just starting out with an SaaS product this is an extremely helpful article. I've put together much of this from various sources but it's nice to have it all in one place. xal/3pt14159/others - are there any other saas metrics ar

Haha well I think it's an interesting idea. I always trick myself into checking the score to see if something is worth watching. The problem is when I know the score I don't want to watch it again! Argh.. lol Funny interesting idea, wouldn'

This is a press release for something called RightScale. You'd think Zynga could figure this out on their own.

How much karma do I need before I can down vote someone? This seemed like a good place to ask.

Some things probably don't need to be dumbed down. I've been reading the old fashioned way as long as I can remember and it seems to be working just fine :)

I'll agree on the first timer bias, VC's are probably less likely to invest in new entrepreneurs because the don't have a well known team and VC contacts. That's their prerogative though, it probably comes down to their appetite for risk. D

I read they've had $2.5m in investment. I'm sure their board is loving this right now... must have been a fun meeting to attend. As for the discussion about how many customers they have etc.. Would you continue using a service like this tha

I've spent probably way to much time thinking about this as well. I'll never forget the looks I got on the train when I was laughing hysterically at those article comments :) It seemed that a lot of the confused were older judging from thei

Something tells me that heavy users of foursquare have already considered the implications of letting people know where they are at all times. I don't think this site will deter these people from checking in somewhere.

I've just recently gotten into using usertesting.com to get quick feedback on the usability of my product. It's extremely valuable to get an idea of how other users are interacting with software, and helps guide where we need to make improv

Some good tips but pretty basic - if you don't know anything about AdWords and you're running ads then take a look. On that note, the #1 dumbest thing I've seen wasting money on AdWords is running an ad for a local business across the whole

To me, Microsoft's dilemma is that they need to keep market share in their core products while at the same time be quick and innovative with new ones. Their corporate structure seems to be geared towards managing their complex, large projec

+1 to being able to embed. That would be a really nice feature to have and would build awareness for what you're working on. Every time someone embedded a timeline in their blog (or wherever) it would be free advertising. Looks great, good

You're right on target - our typical customer is a small independent retailer that's currently using an electronic cash register. Market knowledge and research is actually what lead us to develop this. I had been working for a point of sale

Restaurant is definitely something we've thought about, but there's a lot of trick things a restaurant can need. Retail has easier requirements so that's where we started. And I am totally aware of the POS vs. Point of Sale debate, I laugh

Thanks for the feedback - that's definitely a concern we've thought about. The key point is that the free version requires you to use one of our processing partners. They subsidize the cost so while it's free to you, they pay us every month
