I have one and use it outside regularly (e.g. [0]), it's pretty amazing! There's some open-source tooling[1] for it which can control screen features like brightness/refreshes/rendering modes/... and I've set i

I'm mostly familiar with the Oslo scene, which has Hackeriet[0] (of which I'm still a member) with more of a CCC-style crowd and Bitraf[1] which has a lot of physical equipment for "makers" and has a much larger space. H

You're saying exactly the same thing as me: There are very few independent hacker spaces (in most cities, none), unlike in Germany and Norway where that is the norm.

Good luck. In countries like Germany or Norway there is a culture of hacker organisations sustaining themselves financially via their members. This culture doesn't exist in Sweden, and the spaces and organisations that aren't subs

I did not entirely keep the original title (verbatim: '"I ATE TOO MANY DRUGS": ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!") and instead edited it to explain what this is about, hopefully that's okay :)

I wrote a language tutorial for only the language a while back, and have gotten the feedback that it has helped a lot of people - maybe it'd clear something up for you: https://github.com/tazjin/nix-1p

There's a lot of unexplored potential of Nix in granular build systems and displacing systems like Bazel. If applied correctly, it lets smaller organisations get much of the benefit of Google-style monorepos but without as much mainten

My honest take is that the frontend development stack focuses almost entirely on the developer experience (mostly oriented towards shiny things), and the user experience is only a secondary effect of that. That the developer experience also

There is - by definition - more overhead in client-side rendering. Think of it this way: The server needs to first serialise data, the client needs to deserialise it, then it needs to construct the DOM to update. The server can just do the

HN seems to be pretty split on this issue. I concur with the linked tweet. Using the web beyond very simple pages like HN feels like wading through garbage. Everything is slow, laggy, loads ridiculous amounts of stuff (I live in a country w

You might want to look into who Navalny was before he got famous in the West (and what kinds of things he said), and what grounds the various claims surrounding this stand on.
