Living and working in the Boston tech market, I have a lot of thoughts about Ageism. It's very much alive and well here. There's also a severe case of Elitism if you didn't go to MIT or Harvard, too. I'd like to think m

I want facebook lite: Facebook for Families. Small, tight, private social network. Public social networks to be handled by Twitter (if you so desire), or your own blog, internet page, rss feed, etc.

I assume the NEC is a pretty special case for Amtrak. It would be interesting to see what % revenue for Amtrak comes for the NEC, too. It's such a cornerstone to NE travel. Sold out often, etc.

Without spending a lot of time on this, I don't believe that Slack just used ethnicity to ban this account. Could the OP have been using VPNs or something that led Slack to believe his IPs were coming from IRAN? I don't see Slack

I saw another article on HN [1] where AWS embedded the Polly-text-to-speech technology to read an article. I hope a lot of progress gets made into this where we can have non-computer sounding voices as it still sounds almost awkwardly digit

Having just been to Shanghai recently, it's amazing how well their bike sharing programs work, compared to where I live in the U.S. in a major city like Boston. I used MoBikes over there so much at like $.15/hour. It was always co

For a startup, though, if it succeeds, you have to assume that a good portion of the code will eventually be refactored at some point, or retired as the buisiness is flushed out. I have a feeling we'll also see some projects for transf

I thought the Blue Apron recipes were too complicated, used too many pans to wash, and wasted too much packaging material. I found no time savings when was all said and done. I have an easy enough time following recipes from books like Amer
