When researching family cars recently, I literally avoided the Honda CR-V just because the AC was controlled via the touch screen. There's a "Climate" button, which brings up a screen on the display where you can turn the air

I'm genuinely worried about this. DeepFakes are getting pretty good. The potential for revenge porn is super high. And the rabbit-hole of dopamine chasing when you're able to generate custom porn is just frightening. Many young bo

Personally I never did audio cards (though I did a lot of listening and conversation outside of Anki) or reverse cards for Japanese. My vocab decks were J->E, and my Kanji decks were Kana->Kanji. I always practised writing my answers

I absolutely love Anki. A lot of software make empty promises around productivity improvements. Especially in education. Anki is one of those rare tools that genuinely 10x's you over your peers. I used it when studying Japanese and it

Our little one is four and a half months old. The official advice is already to introduce foods that could cause allergies at six months [1]. So that's what we'll be doing. [1] https://raisingchildren.net.au/babies

How have you found Shinobi versus Zoneminder? I've been using ZoneMinder for years. It's a bit clunky but once it's set up it works fairly well, but I'd be open to switching to something better.

I'm assuming that the Web UI is just for changing settings. The low latency would refer to the latency of the audio input (guitar) being processed and producing a sound. Ideally you want no discernible delay between when you hit a stri

I think OP is just highlighting that yes, they indeed bought a 30 year-old sound card only few months ago, and that they did not mean to write "many years ago", or "a few months later" instead.

Good on you! I drove the same car from age 18-29. It was 26 years-old when I sold it. Never once took it to a mechanic. Most routine services at a mechanic are just basic oil change, checking fluids, checking tyre pressure, checking brakes.
