I believed this for such a long time until I learnt watching my aunt warm empty plates in the microwave. I thought it would damage the oven like running it empty would, but now heat them like this all the time.

That frequency was chosen because it's not part of licensed bands, doesn't mean the band is unused. Also, microwaves have been around a lot longer than wifi and Bluetooth.

Jet fuel and avgas are kept carefully separate and are incompatible - Jet fuel has no added lead. Most piston aircraft use avgas (usually leaded) though some use jet fuel (diesel powered). Larger propellers are usually powered by turbines

Correct, it just feels like it’s not working because almost nothing is designed to function at such slow speeds (HN is one of the good ones though!)

It’s pretty typical for printers (and a huge amount of iot devices) to only support 2.4GHz. I’m a little impressed that this is the first device you found this incompatibility with. There’s some standalone dual-band access points on sale th

No don't be sorry, I'm mainly curious if they still had the same feeling. I don't know the last time I had to brake hard enough to need ABS in the car, if they still had that feeling, or even if my car has brake-by-wire.

Have they done a side-by-side test? Or was that based on some information from years ago? If they don't break traction, how do they know they're braking enough? If this is a modern ABS system I'd be shocked if they could beat

With brake-by-wire, is this even necessary? I thought that ABS feeling occurred because the brake pedal was connected to the master cylinder, but isn't necessarily desired. My bike definitely pulses the brakes in a way that you feel on

I've seen the video, but the comment I'm replying to seems to be referring to a car driving course. I'm a little surprised there's no "pro ABS" for motorcycles which allows you to do a stoppie if you enable an

In a modern (<10 year old) car I question the "pro driver" result. I've been looking for data on this, and haven't seen anything that says this is true, but have seen the opposite. In the past, this was likely true wh

The video I linked shows drivers (one professional, one not) achieved stopping distance in a straight line with and without abs in a fairly recent car. Gravel and snow I understand - but at least for me are pretty big exceptions.

Is this true with a modern abs, and have you tested your own capabilities vs abs? It can act on individual wheels which no human can do with a regular brake pedal. Check out https://youtu.be/ERE9EtOWZMU if you’re interested

You can’t realistically support both leaded and unleaded avgas, and this is why adoption is so low. Airports don’t always have the space for a second avgas tank (if this is the in between option), and if they did don’t necessarily want to s

New and old designs have been tested and can work with unleaded fuel. (Edit: there are surely some exceptions here, so I don’t mean this to be all encompassing) New designs must work with leaded fuel since that is the fuel which is availabl
