Haha, yeah. Before we created it (and looked around to see if anything existed) I wouldn't have thought of searching for something like this either! Edit: btw, it pains me that we don't, and we'll have one soon. :)

I wasn't going to post it here because it feels a bit small for a show HN, but then I figured: why not. :) It's a pure Rust implementation of Segement's KSUID, and I created this library while working on Svix[0]. I haven'

The license in Linux case is for distributing Linux (and the module). You can create modules with whatever license you'd like if you're not distributing your work. In Wine's case you're not distributing Windows so it

They are bot disabling CORS, they are just proxying the request throigh the same origin so that for their web app they won't have CORS requests.

In case anyone else is confused: in Sanskrit it's Ka-vi-ta (it seems), in Semitic (at least Hebrew), it's k-ti-va. So quite different.

These reasons are exactly why we started Svix[1] (we do webhooks as a service). I wish we existed to serve you guys back when you started working on it. :) [1] https://www.svix.com

Yeah, thanks a lot for the feedback! We are going to prioritize this task based on your feedback. It's definitely a concern. We don't even need to store the data in the EU if our users don't want/need it. We can even let

It's more of an append-only failure log than a queue, which is a whole different beast... Though as I said elsewhere in the thread, the actual delivery is just part of what we do.

You don't need a queue to protect from Svix downtime. It can be as simple as logging failures to svix (when they happen), and replaying these events. Though as I said elsewhere, this scenario is something you'd need to deal with T

Yeah, this is less than optimal, and that's why we are working on adding zones. It just made sense to start with Europe while we are in just one (due to compliance). We also plan on having our API endpoints on many different zones so t

Pub/Sub is oriented towards sending messages to endpoints you control rather than a full solution to send webhooks to arbitrary users.

Developers can build things, this is what we all do. The question is not can we do it, but rather should we do it. Developer time and focus is a scarce resource, and you want to invest it in moving the needle for you business, not reinventi

Five hours is a gross underestimate for the time it takes to build a robust and scalable webhooks delivery system, and even that is just for the delivery system itself. You also need to build the UI for your users, libraries for verifying s

What makes you think we have nearly no traffic? Anyhow, this was not a comment about our uptime against any particular service, but rather how our uptime against the collective (so how often any of those fail) - because that's what mat

Thanks! I personally love Rust, though the only reason we haven't done the libraries yet is that I feel not that many people use Rust in production web services just yet. I may be wrong though...

IANAL, though this is for disputes. Not for compliance with international laws which we can do anyway. The question is: can a US company with servers solely in Europe can comply with the European legislations. Based on my understanding the
