Congrats on the launch! There are quite a few of these out there. ngrok (very popular) and Svix Play (ours) come to mind, but I've also seen a few Show HNs in the last few months. What's your biggest differentiator to existing sol

At least for testing webhooks locally: there is https://play.svix.com and ngrok (and probably others).

I always felt that the best software should be designed like an onion. Very easy to get started (no need to peel too much to get to the outer layer), but there should always be the possibility to go deeper and peel more layers. Easy to get

I came across buildjet a few weeks ago and kept it at the back of my mind. Seeing this comment I'll definitely try it now. We use Rust, so I think a sane caching story is more important than anything else. Not sure about single vs mult

Ah, that's a cool use for webhooks! We would be happy to support this effort, let me know if you'd like to give Svix[1] a try, you'll probably fit into our free plan for the foreseeable future. 1: https://www.svix.

I assumed it would be something about the "dark web", never heard the term used for services that are behind a firewall. TIL.

Glad to see Github is finally showing their webhooks some love! I think it's a great feature, it's actually one of the first things we built for Svix customers, exactly because of that: https://www.svix.com/play&#x

Our problem wasn't with zero traffic cold starts (nothing is calling the Lambda), but rather with scaling up cold starts (oh damn, traffic! We need more lambdas!).

Yeah, that's why I used it. It was simple and awesome! What I meant is that by supporting push notifications directly, you can do things like supporting action buttons, open a link when clicking the notification, etc, rather than just

Having maintained a service that uses Lambda. I think Lambda is probably fine for one-shot tasks, or taking from a queue (which is what it was built for), but I would never use it for API endpoints. The main issues: 1. Unpredictable perform
