You are right, but also I think the problem discussed in the article is that some of these hard rules are questionable. DRY for example: as a hard rule it leads to overly complex and hard to maintain code because of bad and/or useless

I'm a professional programmer and I don't find R hard to understand. Have a look at R for Data Science[0], maybe you'll see why scientists and statisticians find it easy for their analysis and visualizations (and conversely f

I visited SF a few years ago on a road trip and was very shocked by all the smashed car windows and feared for my car. This third world vibe intertwined with pricey restaurants was unreal. Added on top of people screaming in the streets and

FAANG salaries are not the market rate, it’s a market rate for specific companies for high qualified developers. On another market, I have a small agency, and I simply don’t see how a developer could provide enough value to a client on a ty

MP3 compression is not the same thing has compression the audio effect. Compressed music in the effect sense can be enjoyable and is a matter of taste, but hearable MP3 compression artifacts is nearly always crap.

I'm actually quite skeptical random people with high end gear can hear the difference between 320kbps and lossless. It has more to do with ear training, mp3 compression is not really on the same axis than what high end gear give you (b

But the stock market is a secondary market, you exchange second hand titles, you are not an investor, so my point is that if people are just here to speculate on the value it’s not very different and the underlying doesn’t really matter.
