This tweet achieves absolutely nothing except give the impression of a weak leadership and that firing Sam Altman was done on a whim.

November 17th OpenAI blog post: "The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI." The fact that they agreed to join as MS employees kinda proves that money was a big motivator.

I'm not familiar with Common Lisp or its systems programming features, but they can access any C API through LuaJIT FFI: https://luajit.org/ext_ffi.html LuaJIT is so good that it is actually able to inline calls to C o

Also not certain about details of how it works, but there are open source youtube frontends that manage to do this, while also adblocking: - https://github.com/TeamPiped/Piped - https://newpipe.net/ II

If the rumors around GPT4 being a mixture of expert models are true, the this comparison is not fair. What would be interesting is compare GPT4 at a certain task with a small model fine tuned for that task.

> Or is there a way to get better results by fine tuning? It seems that the general wisdom around LLMs is that you can get very good performance on small models if you fine tune for a specific task. In the case of code generation, I thin

Not scoffing, performance is nice to have. I really like how Bun replaces all development tools, is much faster for package management and bundling. The fast startup is also a bonus and means it could be used for writing command line tools
