I'm going to be controversial and disagree with this. If you're being onboarded to an app, and there's a "enable telemetry?" button and it's clear and checked by default, that's not awful. If your data is

Garbage article. The author claims that Flatpak (which is decentralized) is an attempt at centralizing software since Flathub (not controlled by IBM/Red Hat) is popular. Also any telemetry is awful, even telemetry that is open and opti

Taking a screenshot isn't breaking the model, it's using a portal. It just means that instead of every application having complete access to everything on the display, you move the trust to the compositor. I'm not a Windows u

If Threads follows through and implements ActivityPub, ATProto is dead in the water. ATProto may be superior in some ways (namely account portability) but ActivityPub is "good enough" and there's already a bunch of applicatio

Some home energy companies will do a free audit, in my case it's Mass Save. My in-laws on a limited income even got new windows and insulation for free.

I have one, it's actually not a huge deal because there's haptics on it. Plus they all have swipe actions in addition to tap actions. For example swiping goes +/- 5mph in cruise control, tapping is 1mph.

I've been using Boost for a while now and decided that I'd give the actual client a shot. I mean I've been using Reddit since 2006 and old habits die hard. I did not expect it to be so awful. Scrolling is actually sluggish fo

Did they shoot themselves in the foot? It was a lot easier selling RHEL licenses when people were running on-prem workloads. These days the support contract many enterprises want is from their cloud provider, not their OS vendor.

The most recent generation of consoles is a pretty significant value, there's not a whole lot of PCs that can rival the PS5's performance for the price, even when you do a 1:1 comparison with their PC ports. Physical titles still
