Some of us are aware of the risks and choose to accept them. Last week I tried to analyze HTTPS traffic on my Linux machine using MITM to check what some programs were sending back home, but omg, it was a pain, I also partially failed. Some

I know this is contrary to popular opinion but I wish people would slowly move away from python. I've wasted so much time in understanding, integrating or just making python projects work that at this point I'm just avoiding anyth

Finally, Google gave me access to my account by allowing me to use the new phone number they asked me to provide and not the one from 2022, exactly 8 days after the incident.

Did Elon Musk really only take 9 minutes to read, consider, and respond to Ilya & Greg's thoughtful "Honest Thoughts" email? That seems remarkably brief, crazy. I'm surprised by OpenAI's resilience through all t

Update: Recovery attempt via telecom operators failed - the number is stuck in limbo between two carriers. While this didn't work in my case, other European users may still recover their number by either: 1. Starting a new 2-year contr

Tried that, the loop remains the same and asks for the phone number and then asks for the code.

I may, remains to be seen, the main offices of the telecom don't work during the weekend.

Appreciate the emotional support, I feel for you. You reminded me of my youtube music subscription with my massive playlist, I like to think of it as just currently unavailable, I lose hope slowly. https://i.ibb.co/QdsKthf&#

This post seems to have been flagged but I want to thank everyone for their suggestions and future measures. The plan for now is: 1. Retry again with email/pass in incognito in a 24 hour interval; 2. Try to get the same phone number fr

I do live in the EU, if the plan to get access to the phone number with the telecom operators on monday doesn't pan out I will try to do that. Honestly I don't mind waiting weeks to recover the contents of my account as long as I

I'm not on any socials. At this point I'm more ashamed of myself, I'm technical enough to build a homelab, I was just delaying the migration until I had something a bit more solid with k8s and ceph that I could share with a n

I did, it's not currently allocated and it's in a "quarantine" list before some phone network operator allocates it.

Sorry, I meant that I don't have it in my possession as I've moved out of the country and stopped paying for it, but I still know the number, the issue is that I can't get a message to it for 2FA.

Learnt my lesson, already working on taking measures for new data or hopefully the data from the account if I recover it. I already called the number, it seems it's not in use, called someone (he was selling "pretty" numbers

When we're building something, we don't have all the specs upfront (unless it's simple). I'm learning and adapting as I write more of the project, and at some points I may backtrack or start from scratch. For projects wh

I was assuming that each contributor would have their custom rules on what the code looks in their editors. I agree that we should have a different solution so everyone reads the exact code they wrote in the style and format they wrote it..

That's very close to what I want, I wonder if we'd ever have customization for programming languages on the client side but when pushing to git it would get transpiled to the most common subset. A small change I would have loved a

That's a nice innovation that I'm not that happy about, as there would be even less privacy... Maybe on the other side it's good news as ppl are usually their best selves when they are being watched.

I know a lot of people that wouldn't mind that. 1. There are ways to bypass geo-block. 2. People would build alternatives specifically for EU (with few exceptions). 3. They could even offer those alternatives to US, but with better pri
