Okay, check this out: DataFlow programming for Julia https://github.com/MikeInnes/Flow.jl

Yea I meant the native binaries in the recent ahead of time compilation work.

Very interesting I didn't realize the difference. How about this? https://github.com/shashi/ComputeFramework.jl But I suspect it has the same problem. Edit: There is also this https://github.com/Ju

But they will still need to be interpreted ie cpython. I'm not sure how much space just cutting out the GC will save?

Wouldn't you still have to ship the entire python VM? That doesn't sound to feasible for your average web app.

So how big are the Julia binaries? Would it still need a VM?

Have you tried dask? It already has dataflow programming built in for numpy arrays, out of core and custom structures. http://dask.pydata.org/en/latest/

Ugh. But in julia, its written in julia. There are even julia native tensor and matrix ops.

Actually, I think support for nuitka would be amazing. Its already 2x faster than cpython on pystone, but its even more promising to compile everything into a binary blob for easy distribution. http://nuitka.net/

Uh, no they are not. They lazy- scale pandas to on disk and distributed files. http://dask.pydata.org/en/latest/dataframe.html "Dask dataframes look and feel like pandas dataframes, but operate on datasets la

Python's Dask out of core dataframe can also do that.

Let's look at Julia for example. Its currently gaining steam in numerics, machine learning other technical computing areas...I hypothesize this is compound growth. For general computing, what would happen when it gains static compilati
