Services is hard to google. The term is overloaded. I think it's called (or was called at some point) "system-wide services". But official doc doesn't use this term. I was simply fortunate to stumble upon it. Initially,

Ah, yes, now I remember the clipboard on Ubuntu. A selected text is immediately copied to clipboard, and we can use the middle mouse button to paste The idea is very interesting. Basically, I only build the part where Tip takes the text and

Unfortunately, you would have to write your own provider script to do the translation. Otherwise, PopClip would be a great out-of-the-box alternative.

You're right. I'm finding a way to explain it better. Tip shows related actions that can be performed on a piece of text. A suggestion is very welcome here.

Yes! I was doing that for a while with a command-line tool. I couldn't make up my mind which way was faster. They were both required some sort of motor skill (e.g. switch to terminal, paste, enter) to perform the flows quickly.

Yes! That is a great use case. One of tooltip item actions is opening URL. I'm not sure if iTerm2 supports executing stuff through URL. (For example, we can open intellij using idea://.) If not possible, please open a GitHub

Yes, it's quite similar to PopClip! Tip is less intrusive and targets programmers (because your provide the script). PopClip is more out-of-the-box and more automatic (I assume PopClip monitors mouse events, but not sure). I wanted to

There's still "lookahead" in a hand written parser. The lookahead is decided case by case. Performance penalty only comes if we backtrack in our hand written parsers. I don't think we usually do that. Any glimpse of top-

Yes! I find that writing a parser by hand (using parser combinator) is the most straightforward way (once you know how to write one). It can also support variable-length lookahead, which is really nice.

I've found that the best way to learn LLVM IR is to write C code and compile it to LLVM IR to see how Clang does it. This makes the learning process self-serve. Ref: https://github.com/tanin47/lilit/blob/

I'm working on a native programmable tooltip that can be used with any Mac OS app. You can select a text on any app and hit the configured shortcut to activate tooltip. I program this tooltip to speed up several of my workflows like op

You will need to develop your own system. However, many miss the basics of taking notes. Noting isn't ONLY about copying info from the class. You should note everything that comes to your mind. For example: * You have a question. Note

Yup. Batch saving is a fundamental git operation. I was trying to make it detect file change instead... But it seems the notification mechanism isn't reliable across different types of OS.

I had the same idea and built git-notes for this. I've been using it for 6 months now. It's a dumb golang app that monitors changes, commits, and push. Maybe you will like it: https://github.com/tanin47/git-no

Perfect. Yes, this tooltip is built to save a few clicks for this kind of workflow. If you have feedback or suggestion, please don't hesitate to reach out in github or here.

Thank you! I've been using this app for a long time. It makes me way more productive. If you use it, I would like to learn about your use cases. Please do share. and, wow, even for a simple code, Crystal is this faster than Ruby.

My note-taking format is actually a simpler version of bulletjournal. Bulletjournal is a bit heavy weight. But maybe BulletJournal is meant to be an example what you can personalize to meet your own preference.

I've tried this system before. It didn't work well when using in a workplace. Mainly because the info/knowledge in workplace is scattered and sometimes incoherent. But, then, I've realised that this is from Cornell, and

I'm building a golang app that syncs notes through git automatically. Basically, you have your notes in a git repo, and this app keeps committing the changes to your remote repo. If you feel adventurous, you can try it here: https:&#x
