In Chinese, people usually don't call Classical Chinese as 'Classical', instead people addressed it as 文言(Wen Yan), which roughly means the 'Written Speech' indicating it is special form of written Chinese, not spok

I can't see a single reason why iPhone shouldn't use usb-c at the moment except to build Apple's own walled garden to charge a surplus against its customer.

So there is the thing. Knowing an alphabet isn't enough for anyone to read Greek or any European languages. Knowing Chinese character however, you would be able to at least make sense of ancient texts, knowing what roughly the underlyi

I think so. It is through self-identification however. The Chinese people keep their history record consecutive for about 3000 years, if discounted Xia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-Four_Histories Several key f

HN is not valuing itself at 2B dollars, that is the problem. It is Quora itself that needs to justify against that valuation, not anyone else. Where that is fine or not, I think the news itself is self-explanatory.

I think it is just irrelevant to the web today. I don't think Quora has a future to be an independent business. To me Quora is just a more entitled/self-righteous version of Reddit, and much less fun.

This. But seriously, you can't stop individual eating weird stuff. This might be more like a cultural issue. Somehow some people still believe eating wild exotic animal strengthen their body.

I have been following the issue since start of this month from Chinese media, where is the covering up? Where is due to the pressure part? At first there had not been showing enough evidence of the virus's capacity to spread from human

Why is this covering up? Firstly there isn't one case confirmed in HongKong yet. Secondly, the virus could take up to 2 weeks to start showing symptoms and it is only until recently the method to detect this virus efficiently had been

It is just pointless bashing, covering up 2 months? Think how this pandemic had escalated in a week, and neighboring countries will not notice it for 2 months? Some people have some weird imagination

I think otherwise. If there is one government that can tackle this, it will be the Chinese government. It is much more powerful and effective to enforce crowd control than other countries. And you better hope it succeeds, for your own benef

It always a surprise to me why US college education is SO expensive, like order of magnitude than the rest of the world. I mean if it isn't that expensive, it will surely not lead to this student loan crisis.

It is not a summer/winter choice only if you chose to think this way. Such construction is superficial and drama oriented while reflecting very little what reality actually presents. The current A.I. B.O.O.M is due to end or it is endi

Only in Google probably...Other companies aren't that kind. And remember the tech haven't had a downturn like in a decade. Hard to tell if this kind of slacking will endure one TBH.

It doesn't matter TBH. As long as the DRAM slows down everyone, it would just be part of the game experience then.

Well said. Startups can't really compete with MGAFA those days. Not the people, not the resources. For domain like ML, it is hard to imagine what you can realistically achieve outside of working in those companies.

There is NO WAY to retire Google Cloud... This is the ultimate suicide you need to take to destroy public trust, once and for all.
