How could someone start Python programming with webapp2 ? This is weird. Of course Rails felt like an improvement for him.

Didn't think about that. The second part is still valid though : having the electricity is the exception rather than the norm in most parts of Africa.

The killer product in Africa would be a 50$ solar powered smartphone I was in Madagascar and people there are walking huge distances just to go into a small shop where they can charge their phones.

Thanks. I was confused by the haters , but it seems reasonable.

There is no mention anywhere of the 9% revenue share they expect when you publish a game with Flash. Did they change their minds ?

You might be too young. Webobjects were all the rage amongst hipsters in the second part of the 90s. I was eighteen and worried about that, fortunately C-shell, ASP, Perl and PHP came to save us.

Exactly : Wearing a uniform you're doing things that you would never do wearing civilian clothes. That's a psychological threshold, for soldiers and for the society.

I was thinking the same thing but then I asked myself if the guys killing people at the other side of the world were dressed like that, and feel ill at ease.

Facebook lives in a SOA. PHP is probably the best choice for dispatching services written in more "advanced" language. The beauty of SOA is that you can use the right tool for the right job.

This article put on the same level two dumb sports and an international standard. I find it quite arrogant to judge Americans base on their favorite sports, but I'd be quite happy if the US adopted the metric system and other international

Hackers are far more interesting than bushmen as a specie. Such a belief in their superiority... I find bushmen lovable.

Ok it's more secure against bruteforce hackers at the other end of the world, but you'd better have nothing to hide to your wife, children and coworkers with this kind of tool.

It's not a great experience for working, I had to admit that. But as an "entertainment OS" I found it really interesting.

They learnt it the hard way. Have a look at the first Siracusa's review of OS X http://arstechnica.com/apple/2001/04/macos-x/ But I had to admit that compared to Apple, MS might not be introspective enough to improve Windows.

Yes. And I liked it ( I was puzzled by the UI for the 3 first days.) Besides usability and esthetical considerations, MS has done something very clever : Javascript as a first class citizen for building apps is a game changer.

All this bashing on Windows 8 reminds me of the first version of OS X, Cheetah. Apple proves the pundits wrong. I wish Microsoft the same.

I remember when I was coding ASP sites with tables. We were happy because the CC hover property was implemented for the first time in IE4. Web development is always changing. We are professionals sandcastles builders.

Nobody knows. But the attacker has to have root privileges to install the rootkit. So the usual suspects are weak password and unpatched software.
