I know nothing about TOX design, but it makes (to me, at least) some privacy sense to saturate the network with noise that is in message length, their interarrival time and recipient characteristics similar to the actual communication. No i

Online.net, the folks behind scaleway you mentioned, do actually have a dedicated POWER8 server available. While their cheapest dedicated servers (C2350 Avoton / 4GB) go for €9/mo, and a bit more comparable 2xE5-2660v3 / 256G

Some ex-colleagues just started offering what you want, I think. I am sure they'd appreciate feedback even if it isn't: https://aiven.io (disclaimer: haven't tried it myself for lack of a use case)

In my experience online.net/scaleway support is better than ovh/kimsufi. Also, the scaleway offers have some sort of API at https://developer.scaleway.com in addition to web ui.

I thought Austria was the grey spot at the lower right hand corner? Seems a bit small for 8+ million people, though, maybe 3 million in my eyes. It also says "first language speakers" in the overview circle towards upper left hand

I hope the memory is ECC, but don't see a mention in the article. Is it? At least the CPU (and I think motherboard) support it.

If you look at the ssllabs analysis, they already fail in IE 6 handshake simulation. Offhand I can't say if support for older browser is incompatible with more modern ciphers and protocols.

Aren't bad blocks detected during scrubbing? I assumed scrubbing every two weeks (as I do) should reveal read problems before any drives fail, at least in the common case. Maybe there's something important I'm missing?
