I really wouldn't worry about pilot lingo in that situation. Just get on the radio and ask for help. People will respond to that.

Not to mention the different kinds of airplanes, different kinds of electronics, and all possible permutations of the above. Yes, this may seem like overkill to many software devs. Safety-critical systems require huge amounts of testing.
