I've been looking a lot at Scala and kotlin recently. Other differences aside, Kotlin has an 800kb runtime compared to Scala 2.11's 11mb runtime. That's quite a difference

Kotlin works very well with robovm. In fact, there is a game written in kotlin on the iOS store called True Fool that uses robovm

I remember reading an article talking about how he started anandtech when he was a teenager (maybe 16 or 17) and had to argue with his parents to let him do it.

I am a contributor to glances, very pleased to see it mentioned. Glances can also run as a server, which can then allow glances clients to connect, or even the android app Android Glances.

I've been really impressed by Kotlin after trying it out for a week. I didn't have huge problems with Java (I accept it for what it is) but it really is nice to user a more modern Language. (note: I've never tried Scala)

That's a complicated build process, even for someone who already knows his way around Go. It wouldn't hurt to have a few binaries for those who just want to see what it looks like

On Ubuntu + my AMD card, sublime text just chugs no matter what settings I use or what driver I switch to, so I'm really open to checking out alternatives. I'm even working up the courage to dive into vim.
