There's a lot of people out there doing distributed systems that are hosted "indoors" (Or should I say "on earth"? What's the opposite of "cloud"?). A lot. Don't you agree that putting "clou

What CQRS, an index table or simply "retry" (is this even a "pattern"?) has to do with "the cloud"? Don't get me wrong, I think is a lovely page (bookmarked), but I fail to see how those techniques are nec

Of course there are physical constraints on computing, but measuring by weight is rather stupid. Measuring the energy consumption seems to be a way better metric (even though "computation per energy" is clearly a human win). Not t

Are you suggesting to measure computing power by kilograms? That's even stupider than measuring software complexity by LOC.

What an optimistic roller coaster that reading was. If you are interested in (anti) aging science Aubrey de Grey work seem like a good start.

Yeah, I felt that too. The citations are very interesting but they don't hold up together, the author don't go anywhere. But for me the Principles of Psychology excerpt alone made it worth reading.

Maybe you have your reasons, but I'm glad I did. For me, a long reading about an abstract thing such as habit is all about going philosophical while reading it. To wonder about it in other words. You can't get that with a TLDR. TL
