>I don't see YouTube piracy as a big world problem. That's because YouTube content can be trivially shared with other people. Stop the sharing and pretty sure you would start to see piracy.

No way. There have been lots of posts elsewhere about users being abused by developers after leaving a bad rating or having their details sold. I'll take Apple's implementation any day of the week.

I am well aware of Judy Miller and the many other occasions where their work has been dreadful. But we are talking about a paper that has been around 150+ years. My point was that they aren't the type of paper who writes flamebait articles

The New York Times is not some Murdoch trashy paper that deals with gossip and controversy. The integrity of their work is important because that is what is keeping the paper alive whilst the others are falling by the way side. Maybe you sh

> The TSA is there to make people feel secure, not to be secure. Security theatre is part of it but they do make planes more secure. I (and the majority of people) don't want people bringing pocket knives, guns, samurai swords, lighters

Exactly. Which is why transparency and honesty is key. Look at Cloudflare's handling of their incident. Then look at Linode's.

No. And frankly I can't understand how a VPS provider can act in this way and still have people acting like they have great support. As a customer I found out from Reddit before Linode. That's a pretty disgraceful effort.

Sure. But then everyone should be clear about it. Linode is a toy and should never be used if you value the security of your data.

I still subscribe to the RSS feed so no you're wrong. It's not exclusive to Fremont. And nice that you were alerted of the problem. I often found out hours AFTER their issue was resolved what was happening.

Every single pizza place I have ordered from required a phone number in case the driver can't find the house or is lost etc.

Wow. I found the complete opposite. Linode would routinely not respond during major incidents (e.g. power outage at Fremont which was common for me) and when they did they were often not clear about what was happening. Their infrastructure

It amazes me that people on here are so quick to forget about the Linode Bitcoin incident. Because it is during security incidents that you really find out what type of company you are dealing with. With Cloudflare they informed users quick

Wouldn't they also need your phone number ? So if you only have a mobile (and this is the government) they would also have your current position. Sounds like a great deal: Free Surveillance with every Large Pizza + Coke.

Siri the APP was available. That's different from what Apple shipped. And especially given Apple's need to work across multiple languages we don't know if a more sensitive microphone was required.
