Have an automated process for deployment and a small number of people who have the keys to production deployment. Don't let developers manually change things in the production system or any system at all. You can use pgtap to write aut

I never understood this point: - You have a separate schema for your procs - You define your procs in files - You write tests for your procs - You put your files into git - Then, in a transaction, you drop your old schema and deploy the new

That is not a good comparison. Blue and red are well defined as high frequency and low frequency electromagnetic radiation. Capitalism and socialism, on the other hand, are very vague terms, and I think the many discussions here prove that.

If it doesn't meet this definition, I wouldn't call it socialist. Otherwise, the word socialism would lose its meaning. California having high taxes does not make it socialist. Austria having free education does not make it social

Today, you don't have to set up servers all the time either. But you can and that is a huge advantage. You don't need to hire a special person to constantly optimize your database server and indexes. You don't need sharding,

As far as I know, the value produced by programmers per unit of time is extremely difficult if not impossible to measure. You could argue that a programmer in 2020 is not 10 times faster at writing 1990 style gui software, and maybe you are

For this reason you should always separate data and code and put them into separate schemas. In such a setup, deploying new code essentially means dropping and re-creating the code schema in a single transaction.
