Yeah, but there are big problems to solve that potentially offset those two benefits. Legality: how high above your property do you own? Would a drone flying at 50 feet be trespassing? 100? 200? Loss: how do you recover a crashed drone? O

Another approach: I picked up an Atari Flashback 2 from Goodwill a while ago for about $6. It can be modded with a real cartridge port to play actual Atari 2600 games, plus uses Atari-compatible joysticks (side note: the joysticks that cam

My wife & daughter have been playing various board games via Duo with my in-laws. They went with this approach to add a level of "hands-on" to the gameplay. They have to limit their options to games both parties have, but th

Despite our vote-by-mail ability (which is nice, don't get me wrong), our voter turnout for primary elections has hovered around 50% or lower since the 1960s [0], with a few exceptions of course. General elections see much higher turno

... And what if we are enjoying it? Could that mean there are animals that do, in fact, enjoy living in a zoo? Many animals at my local zoo are rescues, so perhaps living in confinement beats dying to those animals?

Can you tell that to my governor? 'cause every couple days she's throwing more things in, based on how "ineffective" the previous orders were. It's like, I get it, we need to contain the spread. But stop saying that

Agreed. I have some friends here who are fairly certain they had it, based on symptoms. However, the hospital refused to test them because they were "young and healthy" (i.e. no underlying medical conditions to complicate things).

FHIR APIs are allowing a standards-based approach to accessing healthcare data from external sources, such as an app. In addition, there are national networks for sharing data between clinics and hospitals, like CareQuality and Commonwell.

The solution depends on the problem. The standardizing body is HL7.org, but there are multiple standards depending on what you're trying to do. Currently, the market is focused on FHIR API, which is a RESTful API. I'm on mobile, b

Hopefully some of these aren't re-inventing the wheel. For instance, currently the first one is helping build APIs for getting healthcare data. This is potentially a solved problem; indeed, interoperability is rather a large market i
