You had me until fusion. As nice as fusion is on paper, there is so much cheap coal in the ground that it is economically unfeasible.

Doesn't every other person say doing a startup is a 24/7 commitment? It's hard to quit the refined-carbohydrate yo-yo in the middle of that.

Regarding the title, I assure you that the poor and the tired have a harder time immigrating to the U.S. than any entrepreneur.

Can you please please please put a link to your actual website on this blog? I don't want to have to edit the URL. I really don't.

Why should the Board give them rates lower than what they can get by freely negotiating with the copyright holders? The answer is in your own post: The purpose of the compulsory licensing scheme is the public goo

Maybe, but: 1. That would make them a record label, rather than a radio station 2. Most people, myself included, do want to hear established artists.

The military is a solution in search of problem? Seriously? Not 100%, but to an extent it is. The US has this giant military that's way bigger than needed just for self-defense. It's going to want to do things, whether those thi

The amount of energy needed to refine crude oil is much less than the energy it takes to synthesize it. Think about it: people refine the crude, transport it, and use the end product in an energy net positive manner. To synthesize hydroca

No. Electrolysing water to make H2 and extracting CO2 from the environment, and then synthesizing hydrocarbons from them, is extremely energy inefficient. Sure, theoretically, it can be done, and maybe one day it could even be done effici

/tmp is simply RAM that has the API of a file ...which used to behave, physically, as disk, and now behaves as RAM. If I'm doing large file manipulations that require temporary files larger than RAM where should I put them?
