I'm just using Windows with Linux in a VM. All the hardware support and all the Linux goodies. (Some extra memory is required, but my thin-and-light 14" laptop had 32G, so it's ok.)

This is not about time management at all. Many new execs mess this up -- it's not that you need to get more organized (or mostly not); you need to build a system that doesn't require you to intervene all the time. What this requir

Every company must have a logo with four colors -- some variant of red-green-blue-yellow. It should also fit into a square, and the colors must stay separate, splitting the square into 4 parts if possible.

Yep, this is what eventually leads to back-to-the-nature movements (barefoot running, free climbing, expeditions without oxygen masks, etc.).

There are two major differences. 1) BMW is a much smaller company, 15x smaller than Apple. Apple's valuation is partly based on them pocketing _most_ of the smartphone profits globally. There is no expectation like that towards BMW. Re

Am I the only one who's fascinated by the UX of this site? It's just so clear and so usable. It resembles to https://motherfuckingwebsite.com/ but it's not a gag, it's an actual site.

Many companies are OSS friendly, but I think being OSS friendly is different than building your whole organization on OSS. RH does the latter, many-many companies are the former.

RHEL is just a small piece of the Red Hat puzzle that is sold to enterprises. In some way Red Hat is an exception -- there have been no multi-billion dollar businesses built purely on open source except them. (Or maybe I have missed somethi

Nouveau is useless for a card like the 1080Ti, you get 10% of the performance and much worse energy efficiency. Yes, I also dislike nvidia but a few years ago AMD was absolutely awful under Linux. Yeah, not much wrong with i3 but I really l

I bought my 1080Ti two years ago and have custom watercooling on it. I can spend a lot of money now and get an AMD card that's a bit slower and consumes much more power. Sure, I should be voting with my wallet but it's not a cheap

Is that really true? Postgres is great, but it doesn't cater for _all_ use cases. For example, horizontal scalability is -- understandably for an ACID RDBMS -- not as trivial as it is for some document stores.
