You quoted some assertions made by the gentleman in question. I thought this meant you agreed with said assertions. If you don’t agree with the assertions you quoted then I don’t understand why you quoted them or why we are having a conve

I think there is no reason to believe any of the claims he makes are true (or false). Like all punditry it is part performative and part pandering to whatever the target audience will buy into. Being ex-CIA doesn’t indicate, necessarily,

The idea that women shouldn’t have sexual and intellectual autonomy is antiquated, immoral, and should be fought against. As it pertains to women’s rights the views and mores of Afghanistan’s men are abhorrent, disgusting, and worthy of r

I had a similar experience to yours. I used to do MMA and got fairly good. I’ve trained with people who fought locally in the ring and did ok with them in sparring matches. They were clearly better but I did ok against them. One day I e

I’ll rephrase. There are too many parents who don’t care about their kids or what happens to them. This tendency goes up a bit, I think, if the kids are not necessary for retirement or care when old age sets in.

I think that it is a thing for a shockingly large percent of parents. Historically children were the retirement plan (in addition to labor for the family). That type of thinking is fairly common.

I’ve taught mathematics for over 20 years in higher education and I strongly disagree with your view on the relative ease of learning math on one’s own. Let’s take a simple example. Here’s the distributive property for rings: a(b + c) = a

I think you don’t comprehend what is written. You are stuck on a narrative and go with it regardless of what is written. An example of this. Clearly I brought supply chain issues as a way of demonstrating fragility in the global system.

The focus on temperature is a bit off in my opinion. Warming the planet by a few degrees centigrade should be thought of as massively increasing energy into the weather system. This will necessitate a period of dramatic “turbulence” (wild

Russia has an interest in sowing energy chaos amongst European countries. When dealing with a personalist dictatorship one has to take into account the state of mind and beliefs of one person and such a thing can be erratic and irrational.

In every language with a finite number of words there must be words that are not definable in terms of simpler words/concepts. Perhaps you’ve stumbled upon such a word with “truth”. I think it is obvious what I meant to most people.
