The webpage was there which is what I tried last night. Is it gone?

LOL I just tried to search "U2" on it but it sent me to a Twitter post. That Twitter post required me to login to see if I wanted to see it. What a joke.

Was it the user port or cartridge port where we'd ground the reset line with a paperclip to reset the C64? I can't remember.

I first used an IDE back in 1989 with MicroFocus COBOL from 1983. 30 years seems relatively new.

Go buy a flip phone which has smartphone capabilities. You can use it for basic smartphone requirements (SMS, browser, camera, etc) but you really wouldn't /want/ to. This is the issue with smartphones - ease of use means you

If people don't want to buy a new computer then I'd imagine the majority will stick with Win10 for a period until their current computer dies. As long as Chrome still supports Win10 then they'll think it's OK. Win11 is s

Can you elaborate on the decision making? Was it purely a financial design (i.e. not to buy Win11 new systems and use the legacy PCs for Linux), or was it just a decision to break free from the Windows upgrade cycle? Thanks!

It's trash and is what happens on a yearly release cadence when you need to have a driver for the release. Sometimes you need to do something. Anything. That's why they have this monstrosity of a UI. Total garbage.

> 1. There's actual value in getting used to things. Part of the reason older people can't use computers well and get scammed is because trendy software companies constantly reshuffle the same stuff and they can't keep up.

The military should never, ever be used to "police" their civilians. You could be forced to apprehend your relative. When the military attacks the civilian population then civil war is inevitable.

This data is out there in the wild now and can never be put back in the bottle. All the DOGE bros will hopefully be rounded up and jailed for many decades. We also need Musk to serve jail time.

Surely the default should be opt out and it should require action to opt in? This is the real problem.

This has to be a joke. Real engineering has a requirement of personal liability of the engineer involved. There is zero personal liability in the software which is why it's not real engineering. Until a software developer has to be hel

Loud ads were a staple of TV commercials for cars and trucks. Probably to wake you up. The only time I ever have ads I mute the TV and look at the walls. I only see ads during local news broadcasts on OTA TV signal. I adblock on the interne

Don't do anything as it could increase your risk of X. Sometimes you need to live your life in the present. If somebody wants to smoke then leave them alone.

The WWW could be described as a computer version of the BBC's CEEFAX, from 1974. Indeed, CEEFAX eventually made it to the WWW itself.

I remember the jump from 28.8k to 33.6k around 1996/97. That seemed like a godsend and then 56K came along. By then I was using Road Runner broadband.

The is what happens when marketing gets involved. The worst of the worst being INTC marketing dept.

by sys_64738 1y ago
They don't misread the market so much as intentionally do that due to INTC being a market driven org. They want to suck up all the profits in each generation for each SKU. They stopped being an engineering org in the 80s. I hope they c
