Hi Kenton, I would love to see Wasmer compared there, as we should have way better timings than all the options compared (for each of the use cases). Is there any way you can open the benchmark in Github or start comparing Wasmer as well? T

This is awesome. Will chat with our team to see if we can implement it on Wasmer. Thanks for sharing!

Everything went smooth (just added a new comment on top of this thread for visibility!), only nit is that `convertEol` didn't work, so I had to manually convert `\n` to `\r\n`.

This is awesome! I'm Syrus, from Wasmer. Would love to help you with this! We are releasing soon a new version of wasmer-js, so it should be very easy to use it with webassembly.sh (note webassembly.sh and wasmer.sh share the same code

Right now you should be good to go to start using WASIX. If you want to compile threaded code, things should already work (without waiting for any proposal in the Wasm space). If you want to run it, there are few options: use wasmer-js for

I don't think that's accurate, although it's true that needs extra work to work properly in JS based environments. You can already create threads in Wasm environments (we got even fork working in WASIX!). However, there is an

I'd go a bit further. If you want full POSIX support, perhaps WASIX is the best alternative. It's WASI preview 1 + many missing features, such as: threads, fork, exec, dlopen, dlsym, longjmp, setjmp, ... https://wasix.o

Really impressive work. Would love to see it progress. Some ways I can see it could improve: 1. setjmp/longjmp could implemented via Wasm Exceptions (this is how we do it on WASIX) - no need to wait on stack switching proposal 2.

I really appreciated that the tone of the article is about what can be improved, rather than dunking on the competition. That's what everything is about! PS: It's awesome to see improvements on the OpenNext implementation, that ot

This is very interesting! Would love to see it in play in Wasmer at some point. I was aware of TinyGo, which allows compiling Go programs via LLVM (and targeting Wasm, for example). They have a very tiny footprint (programs could even run o

This time we compiled the Python interpreter to WebAssembly. If you are curious on compiling Python to WebAssembly please check py2wasm: https://wasmer.io/posts/py2wasm-a-python-to-wasm-compiler

We'll improve this very soon, right now the experience is less than ideal. Ideally we would download the compiled artifacts instead of compiling as Simon commented... it will be a much better experience for everyone!

Wasmer already support jobs (cron jobs, and jobs after certain triggers: deployment, app creation, ...), although is not fully documented yet. We'll be improving our docs soon!

FastHTML requires apsw (SQLite wrapper) even if you don't use it. We already compiled apsw to WASIX but it also requires publishing a new version of Python to Wasmer (with sqlite dynamically linked instead of statically linked). We wil

We are actually going on another direction. Philosophically speaking I believe we should not require a special version of pip to install packages, nor a "lite" version of Jupyter to run in WebAssembly. We should be able to run Jup

Yes, running Wasmer Python package on iOS or Android is 100% doable. In fact, we want to even run it on browsers. We are small team, so we have to pick our battles very carefully, but we would welcome any patch to make it work (if it doesn&

Thanks for the feedback. Normally, if you want to run your apps serverlessly you'll need to adapt your source code to it (both AWS Lambda and Cloudflare Workders require creating a custom HTTP handler). In our case, you can run your no

This is awseome, I didn't know this was possible and may replace the need of using Cranelift for having fast builds of Wasm bytecode into assembly in Wasmer.

If you want to run in a WebAssembly runtime, perhaps Wasmer can be a good choice for you. Note: we don't support .NET or Java atm, but we support PHP and Python is about to be fully supported! https://wasmer.io/products
