My job pays for the roof over my head and the food on my table. How am I supposed to be happy without that?

So only people who have slick enough social skills to bullshit their way through that will get hired. The quiet unassuming engineer who spend their free time programming will get passed on and the extroverted engineer who spent their free t

Shutters are expensive in the US, like thousands a window. They’re basically a luxury item. Curtains and blinds are middle class.

The prices are not similar to 2022. I’ve seen prices drop by 15% already.

Are you talking about a fan that simply blows outside air in? Wouldn’t that basically fight what the HVAC is doing? AFAIK the only real solution is an ERV / HRV, and they are extremely expensive (like $10k in my area)

The vast majority of paid writers are just summarizing other people’s thoughts. Like people writing marketing blog posts are just writing what the CEO tells them to, etc.

I honestly don’t understand why VR hasn’t caught on. Every time I let someone try my Quest for the first time their minds are blown. It’s very cool technology and seems like the next logical step for video games.

What’s the big deal? The definition of ADHD is extremely fuzzy anyway. Why not just let whoever take them that wants them?

You’re relying on the hope that the people with money and power would be willing to share that with everyone else. They wouldn’t. Our entire economic system is based on the principle that people are inherently selfish.

I don’t think it’s “extreme privilege” to not notice a price increase of maybe $3? I could see it if you’re living in extreme poverty but anyone middle class and above shouldn’t waste mental energy on things like that

I find comments like this weird, I never think about purchases that small. I honestly have no idea how much I pay for tortillas normally but $7 would not even be a blip on my mental radar

So what if the money is stored in assets? I don’t think anyone believes arguments like “your basic intuition is wrong, studies have been done, I can’t explain it to you but trust the experts” anymore since COVID.
