Not only are the prices out of whack, but the newest games coming out all seem to have some sort of technical issue on the PC. Shader stutter is nearly a universal thing in most new releases, or the developer doesn't optimize for the p

Unless you’re really pushing for Ivy League, I don’t think colleges in the US care either. Who is calling your high school to verify that they even had an Open Source Club and that you were the treasurer of it?

Seconded. I hope they're working on one.

I've had friends bounce off this show as they find it boring, but I really love it. I think you have to fall in love with the characters and how they change over the decade. Pete Campbell's journey is an incredible one - compare h

Yes, nothing communicates this more than just the wardrobe of the first season vs. the last.

This is what I don’t understand. What is keeping you from seeing them without being compelled into the same office together? I’ve had coworkers who were friends that I have not seen in an office since 2019, but we have made plans to meet fo

I wonder if they would ever experiment with a lower cost membership that only has X hours of streaming per month. My favorite part of Netflix (and other streaming services that drop entire seasons at once) is that I can fit my viewing into

I think this is going to have a pretty substantial impact on the service. The power users who create a lot of the content on Twitter are very likely to be using 3rd party apps because the official app (and web version) are, in my opinion, c

Man that part is really awful. I have skipped over it entirely on subsequent re-reads.

I am a huge fan of the trilogy but it's because I accept it for what it is. Most of the characters are not that well written and do not have satisfying arcs; instead, they are merely there to push the plot in a certain direction at the

I think there are some good ideas in Redemption of Time (like what was the real cause of the Trisolaran cultural reflection) but the last third of it just goes off the rails

It only took the sophons 4 years to reach Earth, but there are many civilizations that are hundreds of light years apart. More than enough time to start the chain of suspicion

This is really amusing to me given that his blog post from October was about how public cloud providers were printing profits on them, even when they weren't using their full capacity. The comparison between Dell discounting servers 80

Yes, before it got replaced entirely they added a fifth blade for "Marketplace" - hard to believe now but that was a major development in 2006 or 2007 when it happened. But when they opened up the floodgates for video streaming se

I agree with how incredible I feel about doing some morning cardio while fasted. Surprisingly, I feel much less hungry until my eating window opens up at noon when I do morning cardio than on days when I miss it.

They definitely should've had an option for a "once each quarter" subscription. Like as summer approaches, you get a box that has some new shorts and polos or t-shirts...and then when fall comes around, a flannel and jeans or

That's a really good point. I think it would be far more likely to see that same freshman with a Mac Studio in their dorm now instead of a Mac Pro even if it was at a similar price point as the Studio - just smaller and more practical.

Oh they definitely do. And even some XP ones. But all the time that could’ve been spent updating those to a more modern UI style, they instead reinvented the wheel with Windows 8 and then had to roll it back, wasting about 5 years

This is a really great documentation of how far back various pieces of the UI go. If you’ve been using Windows for a long time, you remember when different pieces of the UI got introduced or changed and then frozen in amber until today. Cra

Apple’s high end desktop strategy has been confusing to me for several years now. They made a big deal out of the iMac Pro, even though that seemed like an obvious quick fix for power users since the new Mac Pro wasn’t ready at the time. Ho

I do wonder if Valve has tried to discuss with Microsoft what it would like to see out of Windows in the future (potentially Windows 12) to make it a useful OS for a Steam Deck device. Some sort of advanced suspend/resume functionality
