Yes. My entire life since I attained voting age has been choosing between a douche and a turd ( South Park reference for those not immediately getting the context). I get more and more weary with each election cycle.

I resonate with Dubray's sentiments. Maybe it's because I just turned 50 and am more contemplative at the half-century mark, but I feel anymore like I'm playing a part in peddling schlock and snake oil. Our industry is increa

First-mover advantage (or close to first) has a lot to do with it, I imagine. Ellison has been resting on his laurels for over four decades.

Thank you for creating this. I took Latin in HS (over 30 years ago!) and would like to brush up.

Sadly, the Biden Administration was the first Democratic one in decades which vigorously enforced antitrust. A Lina Khan type probably won't resurface anytime soon, if ever.

One reason why legalese is so incomprehensible is because it has to cover all conceivable edge and corner cases explicitly. It rubs up against the limits of human language.

My plan is to run HardenedBSD for most things, MacOS for games, and Windows for anything that absolutely won't run otherwise. Nadella has shown his contempt for power users way too often.

To be fair, OS/2 could be run on less-beefy hardware that would've choked on NT 3.1.

Biden was asleep at the wheel for a large majority of his term (a fact criminally hidden by his handlers and enablers). When he was awake, he was campaigning and fund-raising. I'm not surprised at his 11th-hour initiatives.

Valuable for how long, though? With the hydrological cycle changing and causing deluges in places and drought in others, those waterways might not be navigable in 50 years.

In the US, President Wilson proposed a soft-drink tax in 1914, but the already-powerful Coca-Cola Company lobbied to defeat the initiative. In this country, the beverage industry is incredibly influential and has bought off a lot of legis
