So this is only tangentially related in that it's ML related. I'm working on a system where a user uploads a single document that corresponds to several documents we already have I'm the system (and we know which documents th

I'm not saying it's certain, but it's what I'd expect. It raining on one day out of 4 is the most common case.

People praise my git skills at work (among other things) when they come to me for git help. My response is always the same: I've just run into these bugs more often than they.

To take it a step further, if that was the forecast 4 days in a row, you would expect it to rain one of those days.

An outsider's perspective is that c and c++ are pretty similar except c++ is a little more ... powerful? More something for being a bigger language. Rust is a bigger language. There are other languages aiming to be small and a better c

Can you share approaches you've used to drop compile times? I'm wondering if there's anything beyond avoiding macros and generics.

And there's the Rust cookbook. I view the cookbook as sort of a recommended extended std.

I think smoke is trying to be that abstraction layer? I know it makes it easy to swap out the runtime.

You mean like crev? https://github.com/crev-dev/crev/ Basically a web of code reviews. There is a pup integration in the early stages per the README. I came across crev through the cargo/rust integration.

We added metrics and logging at my work a while back. At this point the only problems we have are ones that the stats don't help track down. Ha ha.

There's definitely influence from the package manager side. There's probably also the influence on the push for a strong WASM story.

Sort of off topic: I had fun writing feature flag system for java/spring for work. We rolled a lot of our own stuff for tighter integration and this was not exception. You could define an interface, slap on a special annotation and spr

I would love the stable/nightly badge on crates.io, that's a great idea. OTOH, it is nice that some libraries use nightly though because that provides some nice feedback. That said, some crates hide nightly only functionality behi

Rust lends itself to ECS a lot more than it lends itself to behavior hierarchies using inheritance. That's an over simplification, but a useful one.
