There was a lot of proprietary sun stuff that got yanked out in the 8 -> 11 shift, along with the addition of the module system that makes reflection to hack into dependencies a lot harder (IIUC). Upgrading 8 -> 11 is a lot harder tha

I'd say that Java 8 -> 11 is going to be and order of magnitude more disruptive than 11 -> 17. So if you have downtime now (ha ha), you might as well migrate to 11.

I took a course about bayesian stats and ML in college. We covered LDA. It's pretty awesome! I hope you can get it out and that it goes well.

It's definitely a skill. I play minecraft infrequently with my brother in law and he can retrace his steps in the nether (and in the overworked) with complete ease. I in the other hand struggle.

That's true. I guess we were approaching worries from opposite ends. * Did it make it to the signer intact? * Did it make it from the signer the signer intact? And a single signed commit is good for the second question and only (which

There was a real improvement to the borrow checker to make it use non-lexical-lifetimes. The practical implications were the borrow checker being much better at reasoning about mutually exclusive borrows between branches.

Did you ever take a look at miniserde? It's pretty much just an experiment (e.g. no support for enums), but it seems like the general approach it takes would cut down the amount of code per type. [0] https://github.com/

The SemVer in Rust/Cargo is pretty good with some caveats: - Minimum Supported Rust Version doesn't play into it, and that's been a topic of debate. - Build time dependencies don't play into (I think). But generally the
