You post literally the most ignorant and hilarious comments I've ever read on HN. I'm glad you're shadowbanned, but it's unfortunate you're completely oblivious to that fact and keep commenting hour after hour with

I'm going to reply here about another comment you made elsewhere, because you're not only deadvoted - people dislike your comments so often that you're shadowbanned here and nobody can read or reply to most of them, but also

I wasn't aware of any of this! Outrageous! All kidding aside I totally get it. I was lucky and taken under under the wing of a very generous group of people who have pretty much followed one another around to various jobs/projects

It's by no means a limiting factor if they don't have one, but when I'm interviewing for mid - staff+ level engineers in my specific field I absolutely love when they have some sort of project portfolio I can look at. Github,

I worked in this space on the CDN non-pirate side and it's basically the same thing but everyone (including the major ones you know) distribute all of their content like that over various cdns and they're all competitively tested

Yeah, I've been these "cool Skunkworks" teams and I literally made no more money, maybe got a $5k spot bonus (super rare), and burned myself out over a 6mo launch. Spent my entire thanksgiving week on-call putting out fires,

Oh so Jet was the techy one they brought in that brought that? I had never heard that, interesting. It's got to be terrifying working at a company that gets bought by Walmart. edit: https://corporate.walmart.com/news&#x

Is Walmart "techy" again? I remember the 2015ish years where they pushed their new techy devops remote teams and then shut them down and fired everyone. It was so abrupt and out of left field. I don't know if their CTO change

I thought a "Laserwriter Printer" was going to be some gigantic CDRW burner from the 80s and wasn't too surprised about the cost for a dev to mass make CDs that they can send to customers vs 3rd partying it. But thats a (pape

Microsoft is by far the lowest paying FAANG there is right next to Amazon. You make $150k+ less working at MS than Google, Meta, Apple, Nvidia etc. Nobody reading HN who works at Microsoft is making killer money.

The mental gymnastics that some tech bro has to go through to like Musk over Microsoft to the point that they still use the 2001 meme of "M$FT" is hilarious. I know just about everything I could ever need to know about both compan

I despise Kroger. I moved from Texas with fantastic HEB, and virginia with Publix to Colorado and we already had absolutely trash grocery stores, but now Kroger owns all of the major ones here. King soopers, etc. Absolutely trash stores. Ca

I found McCarthys style of writing to really frustrate me. I think it really took me out of the book to read and try to piece the way conversations were going. I really, really didn't enjoy reading that book. I read it a LONG time ago,

That is absolutely ridiculous. This was 2009. We had just started the recession and everyone who lost their jobs was opening up wordpress blogs and everything else. That's why Hostgator sold for $300 million 5 years later and made Oxle
