I just realized that we can use the current stock price to derive a probability that Elon Musks offer will be accepted. Let `cp` be the current stock price; let `op` be the original price, before the offer was made; let `bp` be the bid pric

Author here. Merkle Mountain Ranges allow for appending leafs to the data structure even when only the roots are known. Merkle trees do not support that and this makes Merkle Mountain Ranges much more convenient for long-lived updateable da

STARK is supposedly a technology that is good for proving the correct evaluation of program, or calculation since the proofs can be built in nlogn time, and the verification can be done in logn time, where n is the number of cycles for the

Poor Zuck. Can't have a day in peace from the people who want to control public discourse. The internet had a great run though: 20 years of relatively free speech.

So arithmetization-oriented ciphers are used e.g. used in ZK-SNARKs? How long have these ciphers existed?

It was the first language that was taught in computer science at the University of Copenhagen until around 2015, then they changed that language to F#/ Judging from the activity on Stack Exchange, it seems to be pretty dead. Maybe a fe

Exciting stuff! Could you consider also making an elaboration on this blog post where you show how this parallel execution of for example the "square root if positive" function is parallelized?

Controlling the narrative is a lot of political power to have. And I guess alot of people don't want to see traditional media lose that power.

I think you mean lack of static type checking. Python is more strongly typed than e.g. Perl and JavaScript.

Yes. US oil production fell from around 1971 until the fracking boom took off in 2008. Remember when everybody talked about Peak Oil? That's where it came from. https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=37416
