The only thing you really miss is right clicks. The Gnome (not phosh) keyboard supports some of that but I prefer xvkbd.

I own a Pinephone. I use jmp.chat so messing around with the phone doesn't effect my ability to use the phone network. It's gotten a lot better, I would recommend running a lightweight X11 WM (I like fluxbox and fvwm) rather than

“Linux” (as in Linux based operating systems) are attractive because they’re community maintained and you can hack around in the OS with minimal skills and no special tools or extra computers. Android is almost the polar opposite of that.

There are good reasons to be a renter, it’s hard enough getting an apartment in the time between accepting a job offer and your start date, I couldn’t imagine hunting for a house/condo in that time.

I think software quality was actually higher then. Dealing with a new API or framework is work too, often it’s actually more work than a bespoke implementation.

At this point anything done with covid as an excuse should be thought of as a power grab. We have vaccines for those that want them. We have drugs that treat it very well. There’s no reason to censor information or shut things down over it.
