At least the fast pass offloads some of the cost to frequent travellers. Funding airports with taxes is slightly regressive as high-income earners will usually fly much more often compared to someone on minimum wage.

A low covariance with the rest of the portfolio will lower the denominator. As long as E(r) is higher than r_f, it’s possible to end up with a higher sharpe. Obv just leverage if you want a higher expected return.

Now you own a smaller part of a more valuable company, given the the money is well spent. Your net worth shouldn't change much. Either way, if you had a majority of the voting shares, you could've stopped the issue.
