You should get an email with a link - it took a couple minutes for me to get mine. Then my link didn't work but Joanna was very helpful over email - if you are having trouble just drop her a line.

You could run it through Calibre, looks like most of it should convert cleanly (not tons of diagrams/graphics).

You should add the link to the Next Lesson at the bottom of the page (or have use a fixed layout as you scroll down). I got to the end of Chapter 0 and was ready to move on, but I couldn't find the Go To Next Chapter button without looking

I bought it - but why do you need my billing address/phone number for an ebook. I was glad to see the PayPal option, but I was slightly put off by giving you all that info. I can see wanting my name for doing a watermark and my email so you

You guys should consider a Heroku add-on with a small free plan (if you aren't already). SendGrid has one (200/day free) and they would be the first place I'd go if I needed a mail API because I have used them seamlessly for small projects

Why is a competition targeted at students taking place on Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday? Seems like you'd have to miss a good chunk of class to go full throttle on this.

This sounds pretty groan-worthy - I'd be much happier to see more shows like Bloomberg's TechStars reality show or a software-focused Dragon's Den/Shark Tank than "The Real Silicon Valley Young Professionals".

I put technical books into two camps: reference books and prose. Reference books are like the "Python, the Definitive Guide" or "Web Development with Rails" and contain lots of code samples and snippets. Prose books are like Pragmatic Prog

Be careful about the As Seen On YC link - my first impression was that you were in a YC class and it's really you submitting your own post to hackernews. Seems a bit sketchy to me... I actually like the old design better. It has more charac

I've used http://hackatopia.com/ before when I've been up to Chicago for hackathons. I like that Hacker League is more centered on each developer and the projects they've built. I'd be interested to see if this can get any traction beyond

If anyone is interested in more about the Luck Surface Area concept, I believe it was first mentioned on Jason's podcast TechZing. Ep 59: http://techzinglive.com/page/295/techzing-59-jasonism at the 65minute mark

The idea of 'luck surface area' is that by making an effort or putting something out there can increase your odds of having a chance encounter with a positive benefit to yourself. Jason is giving an example about how a blog post he wrote en

This is pretty slick - its got the same feel as jsFiddle. Working this into the Flask docs (which are already excellent) would be interesting. Or doing one of the guided tutorials like http://mongly.com/geo/index .

It's just for authentication because you generate your own ep.io apps (I think that's what it's doing at least). If you look at the requested permissions, you will see that it doesn't need to read or write any of your data.

Justin mentioned the logo is by Scott Jackon ( http://www.iamscotty.com/blog/ ) when he talked about this on techzing - I really like it. The design is a bit too much like GeckoBoard I think and it's currently not pulling in any tweets, but

I listen almost exclusively to TechZing and 5by5's Back to Work[1] these days. Maybe mix in a Changelog[2] episode if I'm interested in the project being covered. Back to Work isn't really tech or programming related, but both hosts do have

Maybe - I think that the border around the lists is clear enough separation. I agree about the horizontal scrolling, that is why we have multiple queues per column on the whiteboard. If you have lists with only 2-3 items in them at a time (

Any plans for adding multiple lists per column (two at 50% height, etc)? That would be the only thing I can do on our current Kanban board that I couldn't do on Trello. I really like the app though, it's like a distilled, get out of the way
