Really awesome post - I love these small scale stories. The spaceisinteresting tumblr posts are really funny, how did you hire people to do the art/facts?

Too much choice and the feeling that I am about to miss a way better version that is coming around the corner - I need http://thewirecutter.com/ combined with http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ for anything I buy.

I agree 100%. I've started to clone the Fever API (a very strange beast...) so that you could use ReederApp - but I think the FeedBin API is much better so I will probably add that as well. Someone has also started a "standard" feed API for

Sounds like you might like my reader: https://github.com/swanson/stringer . No social features by design and if you've got a heroku account you can have it deployed in under 5 min.

Nice! Some really good new icons. Nitpick: I would prefer the icons on the front-page - I am always pulling up the homepage to scan through the list of icons.

1. While you have an active project, write down each potential project/course on a piece of paper. 2. When you finish a project, you can pick a new one. Pick the one you most want to do from the list. Throw away the list and get a new piece

Sorry that I don't have an answer that fits your reasonable requests - but I really like Pocket Casts on Android. It does the auto-play stuff, but you can only order by date.

There is http://www.weekendhacker.net/ Though I have always found most of the projects posted on that list to be either sketchy ("I am a biz guy, build my thing!") or not weekend-sized.

Prepare for lots of database locking exceptions :) You may run into issues when the background jobs run when you import feeds or if you are trying to use the app while it is fetching stories every hour.
