Yep I think you've hit it. I've removed the custom font-weight so things should display normally with the user defined browser fonts as expected now.

I hear you. Thanks for the feedback. I'm planning on toning down the color scheme a lot now. I'll post further updates on the issue that you or someone else has raised on github: https://github.com/swalladge/s

What's the best programming language? Best text editor? Best car? Best book? There is no absolute best, otherwise everyone would use that and we'd only have one left to choose from. There may be a best for your specific use case

This. I like many of the things that Nim is doing, but I refuse to take it seriously if it's going to make basic things like tag search and grepping difficult. inb4 a Nim linter is written to force a consistent naming style throughout

This is really nice! It reminds me of a similar site I played on ages back that supported online play for several different card games - it had a similar minimal, clean design. (Wish I could find it again.) I agree, often I look for a card

The idea is that it gives a standard for semantic markup that can be read as plain text. Lists, highlighted text , block quotes, etc. that is all plain text but easily parsed by humans.

Yeah that's true, if you wanted a private server a la mattermost/riot/slack, it wouldn't be ideal. However, I feel it's a decent tradeoff at present for what it's aiming for.

Interesting. Yeah I've set up a synapse server and maintained a small instance for a while in the past. I didn't find it overly difficult, and I hear they've made usability improvements since then. I didn't try anything

Yeah wow that too. :O > I would like to see a neutral platform be chosen to be honest. Exactly, and if one of the FLOSS options are chosen, Mozilla could self-host and not need to rely on any third party.

It's great to see 3/4 of the options are open source! Whatever happens, I really hope the community get behind the open source options and don't let more things get eaten up by commercial silos cough slack cough. I'm par

The conclusion to this article is really powerful. The distinction being made is important - important to understand from both a user's and a developer's perspective. Too often on both sides the line is blurred and discussions aro

Let's replace javascript with ecmascript6 here. The recent ecmascript specs are really nice for functional programming. Javascript in all its backwards compatible glory doesn't have much niceness in the way of FP.

The sad thing is that we all chose to be content with a prototype built in 10 days rather than being patient and taking the time to develop a carefully designed solution. It's only now that it's something we are forced to use an

Something I'm curious about - if GPG uses such old/not-recommended encryption standards, is it still secure in the sense that if I gpg encryption something and post it online, a three letter agency will be still unable to decrypt

Yes, my experience with PayPal has involved inconsistent UIs, bad UX, locked funds, and incompetent customer service. I only use paypal where absolutely necessary, such as for selling on ebay.

Exactly. If me/firefox has verified the signature (or approved the download) when downloading or updating the addon, that should be all that's necessary. Why does firefox have to check signatures constantly?
