Glass bottles are being removed more and more in Sweden, and it would be interesting to see the microplastic waste created by recycled plastics, and the comparative energy requirements to produce and ship a glass bottle vs. a plastic bottle

Uh, how does this work with eg GDPR or data protection laws that require all customer data to remain within the country of operation?

I mean I'd say it's pretty rare. I've only seen a handful of people do it personally, and I've never seen anyone exclusively use a portrait screen.

Agenda seems really good, but also seems to be macOS/iOS only, which is unfortuante for me.

I prefer not to use Amazon, and currently use a reader other than a Kindle. I do believe my reader has the same ease-of-use if I purchase books from the company selling it. Might be only if buying things using the reader itself, not sure.

How would they do that? I think it's safe to assume right away that the companies aren't going to act responsibly, because, well, they haven't for years. So that leaves the state, and what should they do? Not like they can pu

Anything else you'd like to make up about Sweden while you're at it?

It's fairly impossible to say "Sweden should hav ebeen more careful with its elderly" - The measures put in place by Sweden were designed with that in mind. That's why elderly care facilities were the first, if not only

Depends on how you measure deaths from Covid-19, for one. There have been a multitude of reports from other countries on how they fail to account for all deaths, let alone all deaths from the disease, for instance. The death toll is severe

I don't understand your point, really. George Floyd wasn't shot, but many others were, and the questions regarding excessive use of force and discrimination towards racial minorities persists. The killing of George Floyd doesn

Wouldn't it be possible to flip things around, e.g. source of truth is a standalone public repo, that gets forked into the monorepo? So you could thne make changes internally, and then afterwards isolate the library changes and push th

Which is a shame, I should add, because I want to pay for the culture I consume, but vendors, copyright, and publishers try their best to make that process as wonky as possible.

There's a hepaing of hyperbole on there, but my experience with buying ebooks is very similar - Aside from buying from e.g. pragprog, who don't do DRM. When pirating books, I download it, put it on my ereader, and read it. When ac

And it's not like React, Angular, etc. development isn't "reinventing wheels", too. Different sets of wheels, maybe, but there's still a lot of repetition and doing the same thing over again.

Yeah, but Sweden remained neutral regardless of what people say. It's a pretty well-defined term.

This is a neat one. In my current project, I created a (non-lazy) pipe function that take a value and a bunch of functions, composes the functions, and applies the value. pipe(2, add(2), square, n => n + 7) // -> 23 Nothing

Unnecessarily hostile comment. Sweden remained neutral through the war and did not partake in the fighting, as far as I know. They didn't allow troop movements into Norway, but did allow troops to move through from Norway, into Finland

Idk, I use Google Calendar (browser, android app) and currently run work calendar, private calendar, and facebook events seamlessly. Don't think I've spent much time at all setting it up, either.

I'd say "only following the money" isn't moral agnostiscism, but very much a moral choice. It's a choice made by people collectively, and either way it doesn't exist outside of morality, or consequences.

Not that it's not a neat knot (repeat that for a tongue twister!), but I chuckled a bit at: > With practice, I can now tie my shoelaces in about one third of the time of a conventional knot! So... 1 second instead of 3? Amazing ;)
