You forgot nearly universal use of pesticides across the Midwest, creating a green desert with massive loss of insects, which also affects birds and other animals. My opposition to wind turbines has more than one basis, and my concern for b

Most wind farms are located far from where the electricity generated is used. For example, Facebook is building a wind farm in Nebraska for facilities in California. The loss in transmitting power that far is ridiculous. Why aren't th

The relatively recent political pushback against building turbines on farmland may encourage more of a push to develop offshore turbines. Development there was stopped early on by political resistance to having the gigantic, ugly, bird-kill

I've sometimes wondered what would happen if World War 3 mainly involved the destruction of the internet and/or the GPS system. Would it inevitably lead to a hot war? Would modern economies really collapse? I have no doubt that I

All that money apparently paid for good lawyers, and the social connections he probably has didn't hurt either. It's a lot better to be rich than poor of you're going to commit crimes.

The point is that no existing libc is part of the LLVM project; i.e., under that umbrella. What's different about Google wanting their own libc and following what Clang and musl do currently?

My concern is that if Google's libc becomes part of the LLVM package, it will push out Clang and musl and any others. It should be a separate package like the others.

Snark aside, Google's desire to own the de facto non-GPL libc is worthy of a discussion in the broader community. Your expressed desire to limit the discussion and unwillingness to directly address the issues raised by Rich Felker sp

Actually, the story I hear from people under 35 or so is that Facebook is for old people like me (mid-50s), though I've never used it. My wife does, though. It seems awful. My daughter and her friends all use Instagram and Snapchat, or

This was the moment that I ditched Gmail and made my first vanity domain for email. I have a few Gmail accounts now, but they are separated: one for Maps, one for YouTube, etc. I don't use any of them for actual email.
