Studies have shown... that you are probably a white male. For sure I am, yet your attitude, particularly your apparent denial of genuine disadvantages experienced by women, or more generally, by none-white males, is appalling. We are not

Agreed, it seems many people look at Maria as a way out if MySQL itself or its licensing ever turns on them, without wanting to support them in the current tense.

I've read through a few definitions of the word "censorship", just now, and I don't think any of them make this particular distinction.

That link says: blocking access due to copyright issues. Respectfully, I don't think you're doing justice to the Turkish freedom of speech issue of Wikipedia being blocked by bringing up The Pirate Bay.

The latter being censorship is really an opinion rather than undisputed, fact, or a guaranteed majority opinion.

Not a very literate and informed reply I'm having here, but just from friendly conversations with a few South Koreans, what I'm getting is that the current generation, many of which haven't grown up in an active war situation

Yes, but I can easily reason myself into scenarios where the intermediate result would be prohibitively large.

Yes! Follow your passion! Please! (I mean that with all my heart.) But... You don't have to impose your will, for still to have an opinion about certain job choices. (And other life choices too.) "Acting" came up as an answer

I'm often confronted by them ugly double-spaces, they upset me a lot, but there they are, mocking me. I've made some peace with the notion that for monospaced fonts the extra space may possibly have some use. That brings me to an

We have Elasticsearch as a generic document search engine, each document has a non-trivial amount of properties (let's say 50 or so). It's incredibly performant for all sort of searches, the details of each of which this solution

I respect the no bylines approach. But using initials on the website is a misleading feature, if, like they say, these aren't disambiguated between different authors. If you have four staff members with "J.P.", I'd sugge

Personally I would appreciate when those who got pigeonholed into finding their consecutive jobs "the same sh*t" don't foreshadow that onto those yet to graduate. It's good that those coming into the job market newly kno

This looks nice, and I may have some use for it, although I'm surprised this didn't exist yet. At the same time I feel that this kind of caching is as often a smell as it is necessary in an application.

This sounds like some kind of contracting relationship. I have a regular daytime job, but contract in my own time, and I find that that is a much better construction for me to weigh putting in more time, getting paid, versus taking my rest

Sorry for the off-topic, but why is this available free on Morning Star, and paid-for on WSJ? Don't assume Morning Star is ripping WSJ, so is the pay wall a lie (for this (sort of) article)?

It's great that you can afford that stance. It really is. But you can't expect individual companies all to be vigilantes; it's governments and/or governing bodies that need to step in and fix this mess.
