What data are you referring to? The database is available as CC0 at https://data.discogs.com/ and has been for many years AFAIK. I really wish they would include the marketplace statistics, because from that one could estim

In the digital audio world at large 1-3 people teams seem to be the norm. I suppose it's because it's a relatively small market with demand for highly niche products. Simple tools with an insane attention to detail is doable for o

On the other hand, music has historically been a very social thing that have brought people together. The decline into a sollipsist "service" has been gradual since the dawn of recorded music, but Spotify et al are definitely maki

If I were you I would take those examples, wrap them in some html and put them on github.io or somewhere else but with a link at the top of the readme. There is so much stuff around and only so little time...

It seems to work well on the popular platforms (chrome, safari, ios, android) although I haven't tried linux yet. Wasm performance can vary between browsers though, which will impact the experience a lot.

That sounds overly dramatic to me. I'm writing a DAW of sorts for the browser, and while I wouldn't use it on stage, it works well enough to produce music on. I didn't even add AudioWorklet support yet, and I will probably re

Nice work, it looks really polished! What I would suggest improving is the single user experience: what I can do without involving friends. Right now I only see a huge list of strangers in alphabetical order. Picking someone at random seems

> Is it hard to get Spotify API? Yeah spotify is moving away from 3rd party playback, the apis you can get now are basically a remote control for the app. They didn't say why but I know labels don't like streaming djing because

Nice work! I have built a similar system for an ios app called Pacemaker DJ, it might be worth checking out for comparison/inspiration. I learned a couple of lessons from that project: - some music is super easy to mix (minimal house)

True, although I would say the content would be even more pointless without the video - the main idea is clearly to present yourself visually. My daughter uses it a lot and an interesting side effect is that she knows a lot of music I didn&

As a musician, I'm sad to see that social media are almost exclusively visual. Very few browse their feeds with sound on, videos have subtitles, and any audio content needs a big "SOUND ON" banner to even have a chance of bei

End-to-end modelling is very enticing for the lazy engineer, unfortunately parameter control (knobs) are an important feature of most audio effects, and sampling enough of the parameter space will become prohibitive for more complex effects

You're not wrong, but it seems to me the "addiction problem" of social media is not so much about the interactivity, but has more to do with the near infinite supply of entertainment.

That's not it, the web interface still works as long as you're logged in, no app needed. My guess is they are sick of scrapers and data miners. If login is needed, they can ban and the proxy hustlers will have a hard time. FWIW, h

Not only that, but as an SE owner I can attest that many apps and web pages have more or less broken UIs on its screen. And I can't blame creators for not wanting to spend effort on a form factor with small and diminishing user share.

I also do this, among other things to find subtle bugs in code and math. For every unbounded variable, what happens if it is 10^100, or 10^-100? It's a good habit that also makes you view division and logarithms with great suspicion :)
