Assuming the question was reg. WarpBuild - we provide blazing fast caches with unlimited sizes. These still need to be downloaded to machines and setup on each workflow job. We don't (yet) have support for pre-pulled repos on runners p

(WarpBuild founder here) We have had a lot of users evaluate multiple tools including ubicloud but chose us. Typically, they've mentioned our runners being faster, our caching is very useful, and queueing delays being lower. However, m

(founder of WarpBuild - we offer hosted GHA runners) This is a common issue. A common pain point we see with users approaching some scale with self-hosting on k8s is that the k8s node autoscaling can become inefficient because of spiky load

I'm so glad that GitHub finally offers this. They're just more efficient for certain kinds of workflows - both cheaper and faster. If you're building for arm64 targets or android, this is a no brainer because it sidesteps the

This is very cool optimization. I make a similar product offering fast Github actions runners[1] and we've been down this rabbit hole of boot time optimization. Eventually, we realized that the best solution is to actually build scale.

Yep. GitHub actions is down (again). As someone who builds a product on top of this, it's rather frustrating that their status page are usually a half hour delayed and incomplete.

Thanks for checking out the content! A fixed set of images makes sense for many cases. However, for cases where maintaining images from a specific list is infeasible, a mirror is a good way to go about this. Another issue is going to be ima

Weird self promo but we[1] provide Github actions runners that are much faster than stock. You can get started with just a one-line change to your workflow file. It may help. [1] https://www.warpbuild.com

Beyond affordable mac runners that don't suck, one of the biggest requests has been seamless buildkit caching for container layers. We're working on that actively and will be making that available soon!

This is exactly what we do at WarpBuild, more in the interest of fairness and not passing on random costs to users. The VM reboot times add up quickly and that's likely the rationale. However, it gets hard when there are users running
